Queen Mother Honored by the WAH Center

Last will and testament of Dowager Lady Strathmore, mother to her majesty Queen Elizabeth, the "Queen Mother," will be on display May 12th, 2002 at the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center with various documents related to Glamis Castle when her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was a child growing up there

On the death of the British Queen Mother, Terrance Lindall, President of the WAH Center,  expressed his admiration for one of the greatest of British  monarchs, a true leader who stayed in London with "her people" during the London Blitz, rather than seek safety in the country. She was the ninth child of the Earl of Strathmore and his engaging, vigorous wife Lady Strathmore. The Queen mother was raised in Glamis castle in Scotland during the first years of her life.

As a special tribute to the Queen mother, The Williamsburg Art & Historical Center will display the last will and testament of Dowager Lady Strathmore and various documents related to Glamis Castle when her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was a child growing up there. These documents will be on display during Terrance Lindall’s recitation of passages from John Milton’s Paradise Lost on May 12th at 3 P.M. John Milton, was of course Scotland’s & England’s greatest Poet.
