Series – Pentiment #7, featuring solo guitarist Gian Perez and the improvising
collective AMOR FATI!, Friday June 20th at 8:00pm (doors open at 7:00pm).
Please Join us at the beautiful and historic WAH Center to experience genre
defying fine artists and performers from all corners of the creative world. The
WAH’s mission is to bridge fine art and performing art.
The current gallery show on the 2nd floor is Glass & Glitter.

Pentiment #7
SET 1: Gían Pérez
Gían Pérez, guitar
Bio:
Gían Pérez is a multi-disciplinary artist, improviser, and composer from Puerto
Rico, based in Brooklyn, NY, whose work focuses on the elucidation,
fermentation, and subversion of form. Pérez has worked with artists like Brandon
Lopez, gabby fluke-mogul, Elliott Sharp, Marc Edwards, among others and
performed at venues like The Stone, Downtown Music Gallery, and Joe’s Pub. By
extending the guitar to its extremes as a physical material, Pérez denatures the
electric guitar beyond its ascribed historical identity, envisioning a language that
was never conquered and had instead been left to govern itself. His debut solo
guitar record, bambú, was released on zOaR Records. Ñ, his most recent solo
record, is available everywhere now.
SET 2: Amor Fati
Nate Wooley, trumpet
Cecilia Lopez, electronics
Drew Wesely, guitar
Eli Wallace, piano
Bio:
Amor Fati is an improvising quartet of musicians featuring Nate Wooley
(trumpet), Cecilia Lopez (electronics), Drew Wesely (guitar), and Eli Wallace
(piano). Born out of an interest in blending, blurring, and re-imagining how
sounds are created and perceived, this electro-acoustic ensemble creates
singular sonic environments. Each contributor utilizes their respective instrumentin inventive ways, obfuscating the instruments’ identity, each subsumed in the
overall texture of the group. Using any sound or moment of silence as fodder for
interaction, new transfixing ideas surface, each encapsulating distinctive and
peculiar collective sound worlds.
