We’re very excited to invite you to the introduction of a new annual series,

Heretic Weekend, Saturday June 21st. Please note that the program will

begin at 6:30pm (doors will open at 5:30pm). Tickets: $30

genre defying fine artists and performers from all corners of the creative

world. The WAH’s mission is to bridge fine art and performing art.

The current gallery show on the 2nd floor is Glass & Glitter.

Heretic Weekend

RJTheatre Co. proudly announces Heretic Weekend, the inaugural event in a

bold new annual series reclaiming and reimagining the stories of misunderstood

women throughout history. This year’s focus is Anne Boleyn—explored through

theater, visual art, and historical scholarship. The event will take place at the

Williamsburg Art & Historical Center (WAH Center) in Brooklyn.

Heretic Weekend will feature:

● Staged Reading of Heretic

A time-jumping historical drama by Emma Tadmor that reframes Anne Boleyn

not as a victim or seductress, but as a radical thinker—silenced by power, yet

refusing to be erased.

● Short Plays Series

Partly staged new works by emerging and established playwrights, each offering

a distinct feminist lens on Anne’s voice, mythology, or historical legacy.

● Featured Artwork & Artist InsightA contemporary portrait reimagining Anne Boleyn by international artist Alma

Gershuni will be on display. Accompanied by a written reflection on her creative

process, the work offers a visual reclamation of Anne’s image and legacy. The

piece will be available for purchase as part of the weekend’s fundraising efforts.

● Keynote Lecture

Tudor specialist Lynsey Wood will deliver a live lecture unpacking the historical

Anne Boleyn—her education, ambition, and the political threat she posed to

Tudor power structures.

“Heretic Weekend is about giving voice to women whose stories have been

distorted or dismissed,” said Emma Tadmor, Artistic Director of RJTheatre Co.

“It’s also a space for emerging artists and thinkers to intervene in those

narratives and offer something defiantly new.”

Founded in London in 2020 and now based in New York, RJTheatre Co. creates

raw, intimate, and emotionally resonant theater. Heretic Weekend marks the

beginning of an annual series, with each installment spotlighting a different

misunderstood woman from history.“This is just the beginning,” said Julianne

Mason, Co-Producer.

“Every year, we’ll invite new artists to help rewrite the record—and reimagine

legacy.”
