Join us as the artists from the show speak about their works on display and their artistic practice. This special event will highlight these exceptional women whose works explore a variety of ideas in unconventional and unique methods and mediums. We hope you will be able to join us as these creative women connect with one another and the viewer through discussing their art.

We highly recommend coming to see this important show and come to listen to these artists speak. Their talent and innovation is unforgettable, you will not regret it!

A Note from the Curator, Yuko Nii:

While we have started seeing more focus on women artists, male artists are still more prevalent in commercial galleries, auctions, and museum collections. To celebrate Women’s History Month, as the nation bestows special attention and respect to the significant contributions women give to our society, the WAH Center is presenting outstanding works by 21 women artists who have exhibited in our shows in the past.

It is unfortunate that this remarkable show is ending soon; I wish it could have been much longer. We are proud to present the works by these women artists, and we know that with their talent and dedication, their works will continue to be celebrated. Through this show we learn from each participant something new, exciting and inspiring. Every artist in this show opened a new window for us to see and enjoy a fresh unique vision or to share joy and amusement with us. What does art do to us unless it nurtures us, and enriches our life for the betterment of life, mentally, psychologically, and spiritually? It confirms to us that our human nature seeks to see what is beyond the horizon, constantly trying to reach the unreachable desire. There is no limit in human creativity as long as our curiosity lasts and as long as our desire and our curiosity meet each other at one point. Women are a great uplifting force expressing this through their art. Let us see what we can see, ”Women Forward…and upward!”

This event is free, but donations are appreciated.
