Artist's Statement

My current show at Amarin Cafe is a closing of an era for me. This art is from my academic studies which I have done for the last few years. I have done life drawings and oil paintings of plaster casts, Old Master copies, still lives, portraits and from the (live) human form. I have also done studies in human anatomy and exorche. I am fortunate to have studied with excellent teachers from the Russian, Ukrainian, French and American academic traditions. Now my studies are gathered for your viewing pleasure. They are available at clearence prices for the upcoming holidays as well ($300 - $1200 range.) It is a psychic clearance - to make way for the new.

Like Michaelangelo said "I am always learning." I will still from time to time do a study here and there. But I feel I have reached a point in my art where I have learned the vocabulary, techniques, rules, the classics and observations from the academics. Now I must go on to find my own voice, while building on my previous experiences.

I am greatful for what my teacher's have taught me. Now it is time to sing the song by heart from the top of my own lungs.
