"When I take a photograph, I would like to paint with light. I am less interested in the subject of the image and more drawn to the composition of the forms and colors. Light reflected and refracted off windows onto streets shadowed by tall buildings, glinting from the dust in the air or the in the gutter, cold and impersonal, constantly moving and changing. The city is there mysterious but recognizable. We glimpse these beautiful images every day as we rush through the streets. This is what I am trying to find in the instant when the light catches my eye."
