The paintings that comprise ‘Inverted Realities’ depict multiple narratives; they are psychologically layered and formally complex. Each painting is a construction of fragments of experiences, stories, memories, fantasies, and the intuit, that are connected through the sharing of space. Themes of (dis)connection, (dis)location, contradiction, irreverence, fragmentation, (dis)association, and whimsy, are recurrent. The work in ‘Inverted Realities’ feels personal and intimate, while remaining ambiguous. Each painting, in its ambiguity, draws you into a fantastical world that invites, but eludes, interpretation.
